Programs
Programs & Services
In its Mission Statement Schott Communities commits to providing “programs and services” that strengthen, maintain and promote self-actualization and self respect . . .” Education, socialization and faith formation – the ways to accomplish self-actualization and respect - are the focus of all Schott programming and the criteria for evaluation.

While each program tends to center on a certain group, e.g., the blind social, art therapy for the disabled, and the summer literacy camp; other programs are open to all members of Schott Communities, such as Case Management, Faith Formation, and the Volunteer Program.
Welcoming new members to the church
The most inclusive activity of Schott Communities is the weekly Sunday liturgy that persons who are deaf, blind, physically or developmentally disabled, attend with families and friends. The liturgy is interpreted for the deaf, yet is vibrant with music - choir and piano for the hearing. Deaf and disabled persons are active in the liturgy as lectors, ushers, Eucharistic ministers, and servers. This communal gathering is prayerful, joyful and uplifting for all who participate; it is most expressive of the realities of Schott Communities.

Programs and services that complement the weekly liturgy in fulfilling the Mission are listed on the left.

You are invited to join us.
